See below for the new upgrades from the original Twister®.
Over $300 worth of upgrades(FREE)! Including modified engine base to accept Retriever Clutch and AutoTrim
The Twister® uses a tough multi-core flexible inner shaft so the prop shaft is curved, presenting the propeller at the correct angle and reducing the overall length considerably.
The Twister shaft is only 48" long, half the length of an outdated long tail design.
The curve in the Twister-tail also allows the engine to sit lower in the boat, making the center of gravity lower and the boat more stable.

Twister FAQ:
Q) How strong is the flex shaft?
A) The Twister's flex shaft is a braided STEEL cable (aka a Bowden cable) that is 16mm thick. (almost 3/4"). We've thoroughly tested the Twister to ensure that our customers will get long life out of the shaft. In the event that a problem with the cable arises, we have 100's of replacment cables available.
Q) Does the shaft require lubrication?
A) Yes. There are TWO spots on the outer housing that are tapped to hold an M6 grease fitting. Fill the PTO housing with marine grease until full (approx 1-2oz of grease). Add 1-2 ounces to the tail assembly.
Q) Is there a warranty on the Twister?
A) Yes, a limited ONE full year from day of sale.
Q) Can I return my Twister for a refund?
A) A full refund (excluding original shipping cost) will be given if the Twister is returned in new, unused condition and is still in its original wrapping within 14 days.

This kit has made my summer. I have a creek behind my house that would be only usable by canoe or kyak because of depth, but all summer i've been powering up and down it jumping log jams and dead fall and able to fish in places inaccessable prior to this purchase. I have powered through as little as four to five inches of water without any trouble with a 1432 jon boat. The short longtail is very well built and has taken alot of abuse and shows no signs of it other than some paint scrapes.Everyone who has been on this boat is amazed at what this thing can power through with the twister short longtail. Well worth the price just for the new real estate you can get to,if it floats it will go through it. The only time it wont is if the boat touches bottom or my stock predator engine bogs in VERY heavy weeds, totally understandable in those scenarios.
In conclusion, This purchase was a great investment and well worth the price and made my backyard creek into a navigable waterway!
Thanks again!

I have a 14x32 riveted Jon boat, not really sure about the transom height (would have to measure but it's just a standard old Jon boat).
With myself (210 lbs), a 60 quart ice chest full of ice, and batteries etc. I got it to 13.2 mph.
With me and one other person it ran around 11mph.
And with 3 adults plus the ice chest and gear it was still getting around 8.5 mph.
I'm very satisfied with this performance out of a 6.5hp motor.
