- CHECK FOR PROPER OIL LEVEL
- CHECK BATTERY TERMINAL
- CHECK BATTERY CAPACITY
- CHECK FUSE INSIDE KEY SWITCH HOUSING
- CHECK AIR BOX FOR DEBRIS
- CHECK ALL WIRE CONNECTIONS
- CHECK FUEL LEVEL
- CHECK QUALITY OF AIR FILTER AND SPARK PLUG (DEPENDING ON HOURS OF USE)
PROP NOT SPINNING
- CHECK KEY WAY AT PROP
- CHECK KEY WAY AT CRANK SHAFT
- CHECK FLEX SHAFT OR LONG TAIL SHAFT
- INSPECT ALL COMPONENTS FOR PROPER GREASING, INSTALLATION, AND WEAR.
TRIM ISSUES
- ENSURE PROP SIZE IS ADEQUATE COMPARED TO ENGINE AND BOAT SIZE
- CHECK PROP FOR DAMAGE
- ENSURE PROP IS PARRALLEL WITH THE TRANSOM OF THE VESSEL
- PROP SHOULD BE HALF IN THE WATER AND HALF ABOVE THE WATER
- CHECK VESSEL SPECIFICATIONS TO ENSURE THE UNIT IS THE CORRECT SIZE FOR YOUR APPLICATION
- BE SURE WEIGHT IS DISTRIBUTED EVENLY THROUGHOUT THE VESSEL
- IF PROP FEELS LIKE IT IS SPINNING OUT OF WATER, A CAVITATION PLATE WILL HELP FLOOD THE PROP
- IF PROP IS JUMPING OUT OF THE WATER, ADJUST SKEG BY BENDING SLIGHTLY TOWARDS THE PORT SIDE OF THE VESSEL
